Alberto Monteiro de Carvalho e Silva
Engineer and architect, he worked at Companhia Construtora de Santos until 1919. That same year, together with his friend Olavo Egydio de Souza Aranha Jr., he founded Monteiro & Aranha Engenharia Limitada, establishing offices in both São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. He served on several competitive bidding evaluation boards and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Olavo Egydio de Souza Aranha Jr
A visionary businessman and a natural-born entrepreneur, he co-founded Monteiro & Aranha Engenharia Limitada with his friend Alberto Monteiro de Carvalho e Silva. In 1950, he was instrumental in establishing Volkswagen in Brazil, which, within five years, became the largest motor vehicle factory in Latin America.
