Cisper

With the participation of Olavo Egydio de Souza Aranha Jr. and Alberto Monteiro de Carvalho e Silva, Companhia Industrial São Paulo e Rio S.A. - CISPER, a glass container manufacturer, was established. It was later incorporated into Monteiro & Aranha and sold in 2011 to Owens Illinois.

 
1921

Monteiro & Aranha Engenharia Limitada

Founded by Olavo Egydio de Souza Aranha Jr. and Alberto Monteiro de Carvalho e Silva, Monteiro & Aranha Engenharia Limitada began its operations focused on engineering and construction in Santos – São Paulo.

 
1934

Klabin S.A

The Company participated as a founding partner of Indústrias Klabin do Paraná de Celulose, which led to the first integrated pulp and paper mill in Brazil, later incorporated into Klabin S.A., now the country´s largestproducer and exporter of packaging papers, in which the Company remains a shareholder.

 
1947

Monteiro Aranha S.A.

The Company became a corporation (sociedade anônima), based in Rio de Janeiro, beginning its consolidation as a holding company.

 
1952

Joaquim Monteiro de Carvalho

In 1952, Joaquim Monteiro de Carvalho was appointed Executive Officer of Monteiro Aranha. A businessman with a strategic vision, he led key investments such as the Company´s participation in Volkswagen do Brasil, diversifying its portfolio and enhancing its relevance in the national business landscape. His leadership and ability to buid strategic relationships consolidated Monteiro Aranha as an example of success and innovation in the business sector.

 
1953

Volkswagen Brasil

In partnership with Volkswagen AG, the Company founded Volkswagen Brasil, the country´s first automotive manufacturer, in which it remained a shareholder until the 1980s.

 
1970

Ultrapar Participações S.A.

In association with Ultrapar, Petroquisa, and International Finance Corporation, the Company founded Oxiteno S.A., a pioneer in the production of ethylene oxide and its derivatives in Brazil. In the early 2000s, the Company's stake in Oxiteno was exchanged for shares in Ultrapar, in which it remains a shareholder.

 
1979

Ericsson do Brasil

The Company, in partnership with Grupo Bradesco, acquired control of Ericsson's Brazilian subsidiary, a leader in the telecommunications sector. The stake was divested in 1997.

 
1980

Banco Interatlântico

In the early 1980s, the Company became a shareholder of Banco Interatlântico. In 1997, it acquired 100% of the shares of Banco Boavista, and in 2000, both banks were sold to Grupo Bradesco.

 
1989

IPO

On May 31, 1989, the Company completed its IPO and became a publicly held corporation with shares traded on B3 S.A. (Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão).

 
2009

Mapisa

In 2009, Monteiro Aranha Participações Imobiliárias S.A. was established as an investment vehicle in the real estate development sector.

 
2015

Alphaville

In 2015, a real estate partnership was established between Alphaville and Timbutuva Participações Ltda., a whole owned subsidiary of the Company, for the development of a real estate residential project in Paraná, which was launched in November 2022.

 
2016...

Bergen FIA

The establishment of Bergen FIA, an exclusive investment fund created in 2016, marked the beginning of a new investment cycle , with investments allocated in exclusive funds, maintaining its long-term vision and focus on minority stakes in resilient sectors.
